The beautiful blue-eyed Siamese is thought to have originated in Siam, now Thailand. Only members of royalty were privileged to own one. Legend has it that they were guardians of the temples and treasured companions, inheriting the souls of the royal family enroute to the hereafter.

Because they were held in such high esteem, Siamese were extremely difficult to obtain. Their stunning appearance, with brilliant blue eyes and "pointed" facial mask, ears, tail, and legs, gained them instant popularity. Their keen intelligence and affectionate nature guaranteed them an enviable position as a favored pet.

The Siamese is dog-like in its inclination to "fetch" and to follow their owners every where. Their clownlike antics and constant talking about important matters endears them to their owners. Their large ears, wedge shaped heads, fine boning, and muscular body all attribute to their stunning beauty.
